David worked as a Presbyterian minister for 25 years, in the pulpit and in pastoral care, before retiring and devoting himself to writing and teaching. The Writers Enclave is an intensive one-week course that will prepare participants to actually write their novel. The course was developed from Bridges experience teaching at the University of Richmond’s School of Professional & Continuing Studies on the writing of historical fiction.

Woodmont Manner House

All Enclaves run Saturday through Friday.

Enclaves are limited to 10 participants

Course fee: $3,000 includes all materials, lodging and gourmet dining.

Meals prepared by a professional chef from Woodmont farm raised, grass fed Black Angus and produce from the gardens

Lodging in separate men’s and women’s dormitories

Each participant will receive 4 books by David Bridges when enrolled. A downloadable package of other course materials. Participants from across the country drive to the Callaway, Virginia retreat or fly into Roanoke/Blacksburg regional airport.
