David did indeed appear last night and though the group was small (12) they were very enthusiastic and interested. David was wonderful, very engaging, and sold several books. I wish more people would have been here to hear him, but those who were really enjoyed the evening.
Thanks for your help.

Dear Mr. Bridges,
Thank you for speaking at our February 8 meeting. It is so important to remember the sacrifices and achievements of heroes like Major Breathed. We had a good crowd and an enthusiastic audience. Thank you also for the helpful research handout, which we added to our website.
My husband Jay just finished reading The Broken Circle and said it was a great book. He thinks that Breathed's superior effectiveness on the battlefield may have kept him from getting more promotions that would have removed him from some of the actual fighting. Next we will lend the book to a friend. I will read it after that, and would like to read your other books.
Let us know if we can assist you in your history or genealogy endeavors.

I watched the 25 minute version of Broken Circle and found it fascinating. Am going to buy your book and try to promote in the store. Also found it very interesting that you are a presbyterian minister. Now I wished we could have talked some more. Thanks for coming and sharing the dvd. Breathed certainly is unusual and the doctor vs. soldier deserves more attention.
Will keep you posted.

David gave a very clear and informative presentation that was also engaging. Unfortunately we only had an audience of fourteen but everyone, as far as I could tell (I usually watch audience reaction) stayed engaged throughout the evening. David’s lecture seemed to flow easily and he presented well. In addition the presentation lasted approximately an hour, just right for our venue, and he answered a number of questions after the presentation without hesitation and knowledgably. The fact that there were a fair amount of questions from a small audience speaks well, I believe, of his presentation. We have a fairly well educated attendance base. Meaning when our guests are bored with a presentation they usually do not have many questions if any. Overall I think the presentation went well.
Screening the DVD interviews before his presentation began was fun. Thank you for setting this up. I greatly appreciate it.

“The event tonight went very, very well. We had fun with David and we had a good crowd. He sold a good number books. He is adorable and made a huge hit and we all loved him. It was awesome. Lots of wine drunk.“

“We thoroughly enjoyed having David at our joint SCV camp meeting. I think he enjoyed seeing the old Piedmont Hotel in Gainesville that General Longstreet once operated.
David is a good public speaker. He told a compelling story and held our attention. His ancestor, James Brethed, had quite the life. David made some bold statements which he backed up with solid facts.
I hope that his speaking tour continues to go well. We are looking forward to seeing him again at the SCV Reunion in Charleston this summer.”
